MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Growth Acquisition Strategist, the work youll do at GDIT will directly impact our ability to win new business. In this role, you will oversee all acquisitionrelated tasks throughout the capture lifecycle, provide strategic consultation to the capture team, and ensure that subcontracts, material, and supplier strategies to help co-develop the most optimal technical solution and customer requirements. You will act as the integrator across subcontracting, material quoting, agreements, and risk managementensuring readiness, compliance, risk mitigation, and competitive source selection.

  • Serves as a people manager with direct leadership responsibility for a material quoter and subcontract specialist, including setting goals, conducting performance reviews, providing coaching and development, and ensuring alignment to departmental priorities and service-level expectations.
  • Serve as the primary acquisition advisor to the Capture Manager, translating acquisition requirements into actionable strategies for subcontracts, materials, and supplier engagement.
  • Review solicitations, PWS/SOWs, draft RFPs, and customer artifacts to identify acquisition risks, gaps, and dependencies across the supply chain.
  • Drive early strategy development for sourcing, pricing inputs, SLAs, supplier commitments, and risk mitigations to ensure competitive and compliant proposal submissions.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence to identify potential gaps or risks between subcontractor agreements and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with the dedicated Subcontracts Lead and Material Quoter to ensure all quotes, agreements, NDAs/TAAs, and compliance documents are delivered on schedule.
  • Consolidate acquisition findings, assumptions, risks, and dependencies into leadershipready briefing materials for color reviews and proposal milestones.
  • Support continuous improvement across capture acquisition processes by identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and promoting best practices across the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Early Capture Strategy & Solution Alignment
    • Shape supply chain and subcontracting strategies early in the capture, advising on make/buy decisions, teaming constructs, and risk tradeoffs to ensure alignment with the technical solution and pricing strategy.
  • Acquisition Leadership & Integration
    • Serve as the primary acquisition advisor to the capture team; integrate across subcontracts and material quoting to drive compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic competitive source selection.
    • Act as the project manager for acquisition tasks during proposalsdefining timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables, and driving execution through color reviews and leadership checkpoints.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Strategy
    • Interpret FAR/DFARS and ITAR requirements; flow down relevant clauses into supplier RFP packages and BOMs and ensure a CPSR compliant package is provided to sourcing during post award transition.
  • Proposal Lifecycle Ownership
    • Lead planning, coordination, and submission of all acquisition proposal inputs (RFPs/RFQs/RFIs); establish centralized visibility, track approvals, and maintain quality, accuracy, and competitiveness from concept through submission.
    • Consolidate acquisition assumptions, risks, and dependencies into leadership ready briefings and prepare comprehensive hand off packages for execution teams following a win.
  • Supplier Strategy & Engagement
    • Develop and execute strategic supplier engagement plans (SLAs, rate cards, quotes, negotiations) tied to capture objectives; validate supplier proposals and performance expectations to support pricing and solution credibility.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders (BD, solution architects, finance, legal, contracts, program management) to ensure sourcing strategies and risk positions align with the technical solutions and customer requirements.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management
    • Identify and mitigate risks across cost, schedule/lead time, supplier capability, technical fit, and regulatory compliance.
  • Process Improvement & Capability Building
    • Drive continuous improvement in capture acquisition processes; contribute training, documentation, and best practices to elevate organizational capability across acquisition proposal activities.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your acquisition knowledge, analytical strength, and consultative problemsolving style to GDIT. The Growth Acquisition Strategist must have:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or 4+ years of additional work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience: 5+ years in any of the following fields: federal acquisition (buying or subcontracts experience), capture/proposal support, and/or solution development in a FARbased environment.
  • Technical & Professional Skills:
    • Strong ability to interpret PWS/SOW, RFP instructions, and evaluation criteria; evaluate supplier proposals; understand pricing and sourcing implications.
    • Preferred knowledge and/or background in affordability/costvalue engineering, make/buy analysis, teammate selection/teaming strategies, and supplier strategy development.
    • Proven crossfunctional project management leadership and negotiation of acquisitionrelated terms and conditions.
    • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with internal teams, external partners, and executive leadership.
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel (specifically reporting/analytics), and sourcetopay or contract/procurement systems.
