THE POSITION
The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is now hiring for an Advanced Clinical Social Worker to join our team! You will have the opportunity to play a vital role on the withdrawal management and acute psychiatric treatment unit.

THE ROLE
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide case management, needs assessment, and supportive counseling while helping patients build on their strengths and address barriers to recovery.
Responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews, developing and implementing individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans, providing triage, crisis intervention, and individual or group counseling, and supporting discharge planning to help patients transition successfully to community care.
Clinicians in this role also coordinate with community providers and behavioral health services to ensure continuity of care, connect patients with appropriate resources, and support long-term stability.
Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and contribute professional insights to treatment team discussions.

Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of experience as a licensed clinical social worker.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
