Experience working with the general public and knowledge of the fixed route systems of the city of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County is preferred, or</li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.</li></ul> It is the policy of Allegheny County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status. </div> Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Manager, Senior Operations MATP, the MATP Service Representative possesses a thorough knowledge of all aspects of MATP and works extensively with the public. Overview: Duties: <ul><li>Completes the initial consumer’s registration by obtaining pertinent information as to the applicant’s need for medical assistance eligibility.</li><li>Determines the applicant’s need for medical transportation.</li><li>Determines the appropriate mode assignment based upon the applicant’s physical and mental ability to use various modes of transportation.</li><li>Informs applicant of the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) policies.</li><li>Updates/changes consumer information as needed.</li><li>Inputs the consumer’s data and trip date into the MATP computer system.</li><li>Reviews and monitors manifest information on a daily basis.</li><li>Records consumer service complaints and refers them to the Quality Assurance Coordinator.</li><li>Places reservations with transportation carriers for standing orders and infrequent paratransit transportation requests.</li><li>Performs special projects as requested by the Manager of Senior Operations MATP. </li></ul> Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: <ul><li>Fixed route systems in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County</li><li>Department rules, regulations, procedures, guidelines, and objectives</li></ul> Skill in: <ul><li>Microsoft Office Suite</li></ul> Ability to: <ul><li>Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships</li><li>Interact well with supervisors, co-workers, outside agencies and the public</li><li>Perform data entry</li></ul> Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
