Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana seeks applications for a 10-month Assistant Professor of Nursing. The Assistant Professor of Nursing position is tenure track. Position begins August 1, 2026 or when filled.
Duties/Responsibilities
This position will assume classroom teaching responsibilities as well as clinical supervision of students in the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- A doctoral degree in nursing is required.Applicants with ABD status will be considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree will be completed by the end of their first year of employment. If employment starts in August 2026, terminal degree must be completed by the end of July 2027.
- All candidates must hold a valid and unencumbered Indiana (or compact) RN license. Also, all applicants who are eligible for a compact RN license must apply and hold an Indiana compact RN license.
- Valid Drivers License is required to facilitate transportation to off-campus clinical sites.
About the College
The faculty in the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions work collaboratively with nursing and other health care professional faculty. The support for facultys teaching, practice and scholarship activities are substantially enhanced through grants and other extramural funding. A cutting-edge Clinical Simulation Center is used to enhance student learning and support innovative teaching.
The college, in addition to university support, has a four-person technology team that supports the online and in-classroom teaching for the MSN and DNP program courses. A dedicated Advising Center for Kinney College provides support for student advising and related activities. All programs are fully accredited and have an exemplary record of grant award successes.
