Qualifications
For GS-9: Possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience to perform the duties of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been gained to at least the equivalent of the next lower grade level of (GS-8) in Federal service. Specialized experience is managing and coordinating all travel arrangements and reservations; responding to inquiries and administrative problems by members of the staff or officials; screening all correspondence for clarity, completeness of reply, grammatical and procedural correctness; and routing matters requiring action by management and following up to ensure that actions are completed. TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
