Worcester State College, recognized by the Princeton Review as a 2006 “Best Northeastern College,” is the school of choice for the more than 5,400 students who study here. Founded in 1874 as a State Normal School to educate women to become teachers, the College today is a four-year, comprehensive institution of higher learning which is committed to the ideal of building a better society through quality, affordable higher education.
