Staff Attorney

The MNsure Staff Attorney will gain experience on a wide variety of legal topics in an enthusiastic and flexible workplace. There is a possibility of tele-commuting one day a week.

The Staff Attorney is an essential member of the MNsure Legal and Compliance Department at MNsure and reports to the Privacy Manager. This position coordinates MNsure’s obligations under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and other state and federal laws regarding the privacy of data subjects and accessibility of public data. The Staff Attorney also assists other managing attorneys on the Legal and Compliance team with a wide variety of legal work, including administrative appeals, accessibility and equal opportunity issues, contracting and compliance. Finally, the Staff Attorney works alongside the Privacy Manager to maintain MNsure’s Privacy Program, including delivering privacy and security training, reviewing data sharing agreements, and developing policies. This position is an opportunity to contribute to data practices and privacy for a dynamic and evolving organization.

Qualifications & Requirements
A JD from an ABA-accredited law school

License to practice law in the State of Minnesota

Demonstrated writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively about legal topics in more informal settings
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and work on several projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently
Experience working with or contributing to a team
